Affordable Fine Art for those in the Know (c)
Linda Atherton has worked with many companies creating portraits that reflect both the sitter's personality and his/her relationship with the corporation.
She has been an award winner on three occasions at the National Portrait Gallery in London and in 1998 Clare Henry, art critic of the Glasgow Herald, named her "Portrait Painter of the Year".
Commissioning a portrait is straightforward; the client contacts the artist to arrange a visit to the studio to see examples of recent commissions and to discuss the size, composition and location of the painting. Once the outline of the commission is decided a contract is drawn up between the artist and the client and a minimum of six sittings arranged of approximately two hours each.
A portrait painter is a joint venture and the sitter is encouraged to contribute his/her views at each stage of the painting until its conclusion and shared success.
